Thinking the Conversion Kit may be faulty so I ordered a Biketronics BT-400. Hoping that's all it is. I'll update Friday when it get's here. I also found a cheap oem take off on ebay for the rear run/brake to use until I figure out what I want to do there.
Thanks magna. After digging a little more into it and comparing with stock light photos on line it definitely looks like a different bracket.
There's not a stock light or stock bracket to be found anywhere near me so I rode an hour to the nearest dealership and picked up an Auxiliary Brake/Running/Turn Signal Conversion Kit ( Part Number 69462-06D ). Figured if the rear light didn't work I'd still have running/brake/turn until I find a replacement.
Popped the seat unplugged the rear harness from the main, plugged in the module to the main and rear harness and only the left side works. Blinkers work either side, but run/brake doesn't on the right. Puzzled why the sigs work fine, but not the run/brake.
Forgot to mention I did swap bulbs from left to right. Both bulbs are good, but run/brake only works on left side.
rereading your original post and this one I would say it's more a problem with the wiring on the bike than the light unit, either the tri light or the replacement.

The TriBar is definitely faulty. I removed it from the bike and tried applying pos and neg straight from a battery off the bike and was unable to get the running light or the brake light to illuminate. I'll have the BT-400 on Friday so that should tell me more about the bikes wiring and the HD Conversion Kit. The replacement OEM light/housing won't be here until next week sometime.
Since the rears had amber bulbs with red lenses I decided to put clear lenses in the rear. May not make a difference, but I felt the clear would be brighter than the amber behind the red lenses. On the way to the auto parts store I noticed my front left running light wasn't working. I bought Sylvania Silverstars for front and rear and just went ahead and replaced them all. After I got home I noticed both rear lights were illuminated. I grabbed the front brake and sure enough the lights got brighter to indicate braking. TriBar still doesn't work, but at least the running and brake lights appear to be working, for now.
