Time finally come I have to wear hearing aids. How many ride with them? I wear a 3/4 helmet when I ride so that should help with some of the noise. These things are Bluetooth so I can connect to my phone which I have over 100 CDs on, plus some talk shows. They sound great listening to music working in the garage so I'm hoping to be able to listen to music/rush whilst riding. When listening to my phone, they seem to shut off or seriously reduce sound other than the phone music, etc. I'm wondering how they will work with the wind noise and loud pipes? Anyone with experience using them while riding? I have a set of Jaybird Bluetooth earbuds, those seem to work good but they always end up working their way out of my ears. Hopefully these aids will stay in.
Hey Frozenintime , I Have hearing aids to help with my Tinnitus , Ringing in my ears 24 - 7 , I wouldn't be able to wear my hearing aids while Ride-in it would be way to loud , I have some friends that have tried to wear them , and when they take there helmut off one will come fall out and they did not notice it , tell they get home to late then. The ones I have coast about 6,000 a pair ,
Good Luck Man.
Been wearing them for 20 years. The in the ear type I had first made me feel plugged up no madder how long I had them never got use to it. I have the behind the ear type now that work much better for me. I wear a Modular type helmet I just have to remove it correctly to avoid pulling them off. This I do know , you find ways to adapt over time.
Just started wearing them and got a hard eye glasss case to put mine in when I ride. My bike is to loud with them much less with them in my ears.
will wear my custom ear plugs when I ride
I've had bluetooth hearing aids for 2 years now. I can't say they bothered me when I kept them in, but they always get knocked off when I take my full face (Shoei) helmet off, so I no longer wear them when riding. Don't need them when riding anyway. Came with both a small hard case and a small nylon pouch case, when riding I just keep them in the small case in my shirt pocket.
BTW, Costco is by far the best place to get hearing aids (they are the largest dispenser in the US). What costs $6K elsewhere costs less than $3K at Costco, plus 6-month return privilege and extended warranties.
If you reply, please type in all caps since I don't hear well.
I can't put a 3/4, modular or FF helmet on without pulling one or both of my BTE hearing aids off. I finally found a Harley half helmet that rides high enough not to disturb the HA's. I just turn them off and they work like hearing protection so the wind and pipes don't further my damage. That or taking them out is the only way I can ride. Been wearing HA's for 25 years or so now. Man, I'm burning up, hoping for a stem cell breakthrough...
