With the long trip I took in August, I now have 11,000 miles on my 07 deluxe and not major issues other than I was unhappy with the performance compared to my 04 Lowrider. I did install V&H Long Shots, SERT, AC and had it dyno and now am very happy. I gained 5.85 more HP and 11.75 fp of torque.
If you read all the threads,in all the forumson this site,onthis subject, you will see that a lot of folks disagree with you all.
I'm confused . are you disagreeing that most folks are agreeing , or are you agreeing with lots of folk that are disagreeing . .....
Here's an idea , lets start a thread about whether 08's are getting a bad rap .
grzly
[sm=confused06.gif]I'm confussed too Grzly.
3,800 miles and no warrenty workas of yet with my '07 Fat Boy.
So who am I agreeing with?
In an effort to help with you confusion read the post I was replying to.
Good to see some positive talk for a change. I have a 2007 Deuce. PC111, K&N aircleaner, V&H BSS. Cant complain. Love the bike.just up to 1000 mls.
love my 07 fatty, my first harley so nothing to compare it too cept sport bikes.....have no problems cept not enuff funds for parts...finally get to order some V&H BR and the fuel pack next week wooohaa cant wait.....might have some SE slip ons for sale...
8800 miles on my 07 FLSTC. Stealer did the 1000mi service, syn3 in all 3 holes. I had the battery box recall done at 2280mi. Tranny whined in 5th, so I followed much advice from this forum and went with 20w50 synthetic in the crank, 10w40 synthetic in the primary and 85w140 synthetic in the tranny(the brand doesn't matter) at 5000mi. A wire short at the battery box left me stranded in Knoxville TN at 5800mi. I blamed my local dealer for this (to no avail).
Other than the wire short and the 5th gear whine(which is gone), I'm very happy. I just need more cash for more goodies!!!!!!
Distance travelled so far on my '07 Fb: 8,000 kms (that's 5,00 miles).
Wouldn't change a thing - except for header/pipes, air filter, engine management (PC111), seat, hand grips, floor boards, rear pegs,switch gear &braided lines etc etc etc (something to do with my bling parasite disorder).
If I wanted perfect, I would have bought a Honda Accord, thank God for Harley character.
My 07 Fat Boy hasn't had any major problems yet 18000 miles, abnormal front tire wear, probably from the oddly offset front wheel, Harley fixed this for 08, I just got my hands on an 08 front wheel, and I am putting on a set of 08 chrome lower fork sliders, this should solve the problem, and fix the unsightly offset front fender and that stupid recall (notched upper fork sliders). Loose battery terminal, flat tire, thats about it.
I put on a Stage one kit ,V&H Big Radius pipes, S.E.R.T., lucas synthetic oil. runs great.
