Help from the group--I have an '04 Softail Standard 11,500 miles--friend wants to sell me an '05 Fatboy 12000 miles with $4000.00 in chrome extra. What do you think of selling my standard to buy the fatboy? I could break even on the deal.

I think it would be cool, but only if you lose the ugly solid wheels and get good ole spoke wheels.

I agree on the rims. I never really liked the front fender on fatboys either. I prefer the FLSTN or FLSTSC fender. The bike itself, otherwise looks very cool.

Thanks for your input.
The only thing better than $4000 worth of extra's, is $4000 worth of extra's that you picked out yourself. If you like how he upgraded his bike, I would say get it. But would it really feel like your bike? I guess that's how I look at it..IMHO. Good luck with your decision!
RE: Need help deciding--Softail Standard or Fatboy?
I went from a 2001 FXST to an 07 Fat Boy. I like the way the Fat Boy rides much better. To me it is the difference in the front end of the FL bikes, as they seem more stable at any speed.
