I have decided against apes. I am riding my Fat Boy now on 300-400 mile trips every Sunday. Apes just would't be for me. My upper back and neck were killing me after sundays ride. I want to get some drags with a nice rise and pull back. Want to do this in the next couple weeks. Can someone post a pic for me maybe or give me a reccommendation? Just want my arms up. Chubby's? Street slammers?
I love my drag bars on my 07 fatboy. I have the harley street slammers. I think they have about a 7" rise? Anyway I would not have any other type of bar. The wires are internal for a clean look. I will try to go snap a pic and get it posted up. I dont wantto sound negative, but if you let the dealer install these barsthe price theycharge is OUTRAGEOUS!! The bars are only about $240-$250, butyou gotta change out some cables and stuff.Im sure there are other brands of drags out there, butI love mine and would reccomend them.
Thanks Trevor. Is the reach better with the Slammers than the stock ones? Please post pics.
Paul C. I have the $199 badlander from the dealer. I thought it was really comfortable till I went 300+ milesThe stock seat did rub my paint pretty good.
I will have to V&H big radius pipes in on Tuesday!! I got a stock badland seat coming to. I like the stock fatboy seat, but I dont like the big hump padon the back when 2up riding. My wife is tiny so i think she will fit ok on the back of the badlander for shorter rides. Next up is a different fender, like the one that is on the bike a few post up.
On this particular bike I really can't say how these feel as compared to the stock bars because I had the stockers taken off by the stealer/dealer before I even seen or sat on the bike. I know that sounds odd, but I knew whatI wanted. Ipersonally can't stand the way the stock bars look, but thatis just myprefrence soI hope nobody takes offense to that. I just can't imagine"MY" bike with anything other than drag bars. I haveloved the look since I wasa kid.
