I installed the above LED bulb last night. The color is bright white, the beam pattern on the wall compared to the stock is identical. The new LED appears to be brighter. I have not taken it out on the road yet, I will post up when I do.
The proper beam pattern for LED should have a "cutoff" LED in halogen housing will be much brighter, but more like a blob of light than a beam. Have a friend drive opposite you on a dark night and see what they say.
DK worked much better than a cheap amazon led I tried. I put the DK back on and Im very happy with it. The big thing I noticed about the amazon Chinese led was that it didnt seem to be nearly as bright as the DK led when I walked away from the bike and looked back at. What cages would see basically.
Does anyone know if the replacement LED bulb only creates issues with the electrical system like LED turn signals do without the resistor boxes? I'd love to change out the headlight bulb only (because of the cost difference between bulbs vs. the whole headlight assembly like a Daymaker) but am worried that it would create problems. I guess what I'm trying to say is....are there any bulbs that work as they should and are direct plug and play?

When I put in the Sunpie kit, it took me about 20 minutes. and nothing to do but swap. No problem, no adapaters, etc. I think there might be some HD models that require something, but my 16 Heritage (and likely other Softails) did not.
Someone above said something about the DK being brighter than the "cheap Amazon Chinese LED". They might be right, but I will say that my bike is VERY visible. I started it up, drove about a 1/4 mile away in the car and it was super-crazy visible, even during the day.
I have the Fuelmoto LED. I payed $34. Pretty happy with it.
when I decided to upgrade to an led head light bulb, I went with FM too. Five years ago?
They sent me the Path Finder brand. Cost about $65 then.
path Finders good ****!
But you can find identicle copies. 100% identical for about half the price.
I think FM did too LOL
The reason being I ordered the LED 881's bulbs from Fuelmoto as well for my passing light but I have the older version on my Fatboy...so I really only needed the wiring but for $40 this also came with the lights. We'll see, and you get what you pay for and all.
