Default Harley Speedo/Tach Combo Help

The speedo on my 05 is kinda shltty, the condensation some mornings is so bad I can barely read it. I do look at my speedo often in town because my local PD can be serious dicks. I've been considering the Harley upgrade Combo Speed/Tach.

Question is, does the tach work? I don't want a dead dial.

Work withour problem in your bike, but your bike is from year 2005, the gear indicator and fuel range, will not show.

Thank you, I read on the site where it indicated the gear and range was inoperable, but never mention the tach revs, awesome. thanks again brother.

Yes, the tach will work. But, you will still have the same condensation issues.

Why is that Doc? I was talking to my brother, he has a 2000 FLSTC with over 40K on her, no condensation issues at all.

I am just asking because I have a newer bike, but if the speedo works and the tach will work, why wont the gear indicator work?

I have it my 06 and 09. Works great. Gear indicator works on both. No condensation on either and both have been in the rain.

The older bikes may not have the gear indicator like the newer ones. So therefore the Speedo/Tach won't be able to utilize the function if it isn't present. The Datalink cable reads all the info from your current Speedo and transfers it over to the new one. I asked about the tach because I don't have one in my current speedo. I just don't want a dead dial.

Just giving my experience.

I have a speedo/tach combo and I get condensation on the inside of the glass at times.
