Default Rear caliper 2001 softail deuce

ok.... new to this area..... usually hang in touring, off-topic, and general hd side. Have a friend who has a 2001 softail deuce. She said the rear caliper is sticking. I have not looked at it yet, but did some searching about either repair or replacement of rear caliper. Anyone got advice for this? I've never done this but I stayed in a Holiday Inn last nite! Seriously, I used to be an auto mechanic, so some of these things are not strange to me. I have some reservations about rebuilding the caliper as I don't know if there are special tools involved. Plus with new caliper I know there are all new parts and no worries about bad or worn components. From what little I've seen, these things are really expensive. Your advice is appreciated.
Thanks!

sound like just the caliper pistons are dirty , I would just remove the caliper and spray some brake cleaner in and around the pistons moving them in and out a little , Don't Get Brake cleaner on any thing Painted !! Good Luck , I had to Rebuld my front Caliper about 10 years ago , Parts are cheap.

I’d flush the brakes too!

thanks for the input..... got a busy week this week so I won't be able to see this until next week. Fortunately she's in no rush to ride...after all she just got it out of storage last week!!! I'll give it a look see and see what I can. I am trying to get some ideas of problems or issues so when we talk, I can prep her for what it may take.

The kit from Harley is cheap, the process is easy. Worst part is getting the pistons out, compressed air helps. Then depending on how good you are at bleeding brakes will determine how the rest goes.
I was anxious the first time I did mine. No need to be.
