Default Progressive shock question

I came across a great deal ($150) on a pair of Progressive 422 shocks that are like brand new. The problem is my bike is a 92 Heritage and the shocks are for a 2000 Heritage. The difference is the 2000 shocks have a stud end on one side and the 92 has the same ends on both sides. I was thinking that I could get a lowering kit for the 92 or just get a couple rod ends to make these shocks work. Anyone have any ideas to make these work?
