More interesting to me than who is carrying would be a poll to find out of those who do, who has used it, how many times, and why.

But do you think that is the kind of information people would want to release to strangers on an internet forum?

Well, on second thought, from some of the stuff I've read maybe they would. LoL...

I have it first of all because it is my right. I have second of all because generally the bad guys usually carry them. I do not find it a big issue. It is kind of like liability insurance it is there just in case.

Well that lets me out, no way that New York is going to honor ANYBODY elses CCW. Hell they had to pass a special law to allow the competetors for the Olympicsto bring theirown guns.

It was either that or King Cobra, as in Colt King Cobra not Shelby Cobra. But King Cobra is always taken before I get there. Citoriplus says the same thing, but only to those who understand it.
Besides it kind of 'tweeks' the lefties nose's when they finally figure it out.

BTW When I really wanna tweek their noses I tell them I not only like, use, and own a bunch of guns.
I also drive a pickup and ride a Harley.

If I'm going to be gone overnight I'll carry one of my Glocks. Living in the "People's Republic of California" and not having a CCW yet ,I disassemble it and carry the frame locked in a case with the slide group, magazines (unloaded) and cartridges in seperate bags. When I get to my destination I re-assemble it . I'm not worried about an on the road gun fight but like the security in a motel room. Also, I ride with LEO friends alot so they can handle anything unexpected.

Man, I just don't get the whole "Guns-N-Harleys" thing. What's the point? Are you implying you as gun carriers are prepared for a gunfight that will allegadly happen for sure? Are you ready to commit murder if someoneattempts to stealyour Harley? For cripes sake it's a friggin bike! You willing to die for a Harley? Are you trying to thwart a robbery or mugging by shooting someone? You live by the sword you die by it.....Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. TrainedLaw enforcement, and military persons, well I can accept those individuals carrying, but some of you pistol packin' civillian cowboys that seem to be just looking for an excuse to pull a trigger, eventually trouble will find you..... Sorry, these are strictly just my opinions......you guys do what you need to do.....

Here is my response: “Do what you need to do”!!

Quote: “Are you implying you as gun carriers are prepared for a gunfight that will allegedly happen for sure?”

My answer: I am an assistant instructor here www.rangmaster.com and we have 2 to 3 students involved in real GUNFIGHTS a year. All of them were ruled justified.

Quote: “Are you ready to commit murder if someone attempts to steal your Harley?”

My answer: In my state you must reasonably believe that your in fear of being killed or seriously injured. No I won’t shoot anybody attempting to steal my Harley( when I get one) but I will if in the process the perp threatens me, or my family with death or serious injury.

Quote: “ For cripes sake it’s a friggin bike!!

My answer: You are correct that it is a friggin bike and insurance will replace it. and in that instance I will be a good wittnes unless the perp threatens me.

Quote: “ You willing to die for a Harley?”

My answer: No I am not, as explained above if I am threatened with death of serious bodily injury I will defend myself.

Quote: “ Are you trying to thwart a robbery or mugging by shooting someone?

My answer: If it is me, my wife, kids, family and they are being threatened with death or serious injury yes. If it is somebody else I will be a good witness for PD.

Quote: “You live by the sword you die by it.....Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. My answer: This whole paragraph is full of ignorant statements it is funny ( not funny ha ha, but funny sad) LEOs are required on average to requalify every 6 months and most pass with flying colors, but there are a few that still need help. Military on the whole have very little handgun training, most being familiarization, and cleaning. Unless they are in units requiring handgun use. NYPD in one year discharged 1100 rds. Killed approx. 60 perps, 11 bystanders, and 4 cops!
Are there some rogue permit holders out there? So far if there are it has been less than ½ of 1 % of the permit population.

You might do a little research on the subject, I think you will find most of your opinions are invalid.

So lets you and I put all the BS aside, and in my opinion (for which there is NO "invalidness") you simply carry a firearm with the intent to murder if you feel life threatened in any form. I am 41 years old, and NEVER in all my life's situations have I ever even remotely felt the need to have had a firearm, and I am sure all the other millions of typicall citizens also never have had the need to carry a firearm to protect themselves. Again, I am pro choice, and I have no right to tell you how to live your life, I am ju
