Hello
I could use some help
I am about to buy the Feulings 7090 upgrade and have som doubt regarding the right cam
Is the “Andrews 216821 - 21N Twin Cam 88 Conversion Cams Kit Upgrade 99-06 Roller Chain” the right cam to use for my 88cu from 2001
Welcome to the forum. Do some searching and reading. There is a ton of info about cams for the 88 on here, especially in the engine mechanical area. Lots of things factor into what will be the best choice for you.
I used S&S 509Gs in my 2002 stock 88 Fat Boy and am really happy with them. I didn't look at the Andrews very close, but the 21 gets recommended a lot for engines that are otherwise stock.

I agree with that, but it was now intended if there were 2 types of Andrews 21n to choose from?
yes, I'd rather contact them and hear!!..by the Way, can i use the standard pushrods in the machine when instaling the new hydraulics lifters
Yes... you can reuse the OEM pushrods with the Andrews 21 cams. You'll need to remove the rocker covers/rocker arms to get them out.
While you have the rocker covers off, you can upgrade the breathers to the new style (stamped unit).
Also consider drilling out the breather drain holes to .125". I've done this mod to my two early twin cams. I haven't noticed a difference, but many believe it will reduce the amount of oil introduced back into the intake through the breathers...

pulled the head cover to get the pushrods out. so reused most everything excecpt gaskets. pretty simple
