Default Storage she’s options

Hi fellers. I’ve been gone forever, well, I became a lurker for a long time hahaha. It all started with a divorce, the death of my mother and lots of changes at work.

Anyway, I’m back to ask my softail brethren for some help. I need help storing my bike at my new place.

I posted on the general forum, so I’ll just link it here.

I looked at this one while doing my research, the depth, width and height measurements will work. The one problem I see is the door might not be wide enough to get the handle bars through. 2 feet is a tight squeeze !

Ill have to go measure the width of my bars.

Thank you for the kind welcome and the well wishes brother. I’ve been in a spiritual and emotional nose dive for the past year and a half and I can’t seem to get out of it.

Its so bad that I have a hard time appreciating and being grateful when things do go right for me (like moving into this new apartment). All I seem to focus on is the things that go wrong, I can’t stand myself most of the time because of this.

Anyway, sorry, I mistook you for a psychologist hahaha. Thank you for the recommendations guys. I will look into them.

Thank you man!!!
I literally have only put around 150 miles on my bike in the last two years. I’ve entertained the idea of selling it but I just can’t get myself to do it. Way too much heart and soul put into that thing, many late nights and bloody knuckles working on that thing.

Another reason why I can’t get rid of it is in full display in this thread. I’ve been welcomed by two of you already and I barely just got back here.
I would miss the hell out of this brotherhood if I sold my bike and disappeared from the forum for good. I have no family here in this country other than a step sister who lives in Florida and the girlfriend I live with now. I know I don’t even know what many of you on this forum look like but I still feel a connection to you all. That is priceless !!!! I can’t let myself slip away from the brotherhood !!

I’m fighting the good fight boys!!!

Good for you man, and hold on with everything you've got! You have a beautiful Rocker, and there aren't too many of us, so we have to stick together! Let me know if you need anything, and I'll try and find a way to help.

So I use one of those at work, and they are pretty sturdy. I'm not sure how much snow weight it would support though, so you might have to clear it off if that is an issue where you live. Plus it doesn't really offer much in terms of security if that is a concern.

I didn’t realize you had a rocker as well !!! Yea, not many of us around, another reason why I don’t want to get rid of mine !!!

I read one review about that bike shield from someone who actually lives here in NJ. They said it held up pretty well during a big snow storm, they just had to go out and clear off the snow off the top of it once in a while. As far as the hike getting stolen, I’m not really worried about that. Our neighborhood is good, we are off the beaten path, away from any main roads (dead end street). So no one other than the people who live on our block would be driving by and seeing it.

Plus, I would just surround the bike with my other cars in such a way that would make it really hard for someone to roll the bike away. The only issue is the space in the driveway. Will be tough since we have to share the driveway with the landlord and his girlfriend. The shield is still a good option , one which I can always take with me wherever I go.

Im still considering getting the best outdoor cover on the market, waxing and detailing the bike really well and just using that instead of complicating my life with building sheds.

Anyone have experience with a good outdoor cover in snowy winters they can report?
