Hi all,
I posted this in the tech forum but no replies, I'm hoping it will get more exposure here
I own a 2007 FXST/C and I'm located in Australia. I have fitted the Sceaming Eagle pipes and Stage 1 Air cleaner, my local dealer says HD don't have a Stage 1 download for my 2007 bike, I'm not sure I believe this, unless it's not available for the Aussie bikes.Does anyone know what the HD part no. is please?
Any assistance would be appreciated
Thanks John
sorry i dont have an answer for you, but i am thinking of fitting screaming eagle mufflers to my 07fxtsc
just wondering i dont want anthing too loud ust a good note to it.
You'll probably have to go into the dealership and ask to look at their catalog. It will list the cartridge under the Screaming Eagle stuff if it's there. They'll want around $150 or so to do a 10 minute download to the bike's ECM.
Correct - the new 96" doesn't have a Stage 1 available here in Australia due to tighter EPA (USA and Oz) requirements. Previous Stage 1 versions cater to the older 88" and wouldn't be suitable for an 07 HDI (active air intake) model.
I'm in Melbourne and I've got the 07 Deuce with VH BR, SE AC & SERT. If you do more than a set of slip ons (even with a slip on set really given how lean the bike runs in its stock form) you'll need to use either VH Fuelpak, PCIII or SERT. Do a search here and decide what is best for you, but i opted for SERT and the bike has just done 1050kms and it's running beautifully.
If you do opt for SERT, don't pay retial here and get it shipped from the USA - make sure the CD ROMis version J (or newer). The tuning model is the same no matter the version, just the CD updates. www.zanottimotor.com shipped mine for lessa than half what the Australian dealers wanted for it and they will install it for you if you don't want to do it (they installed mine).
There is a stage 1 download available, but it's listed separately, so they will have to dig a little to find it. If they have a copy of the "torque smoothing" recall notice, they will find the part number there.
I paid USD $357.00 from www.zanottimotor.com in December 2006. Add approx 20% for shipping plus currency conversion (i got it at 0.76 but the Australian dollar keeps rising and now it's up to 0.87) and total cost shipped is approximately AUD $464.61. I got the SERT cables too for USD $26.95 but i haven't used them (yet). I had to wait a few weeks for the part too, but Zanotti has a back order function on the website so you can keep track - it was super fast anyways.
I ordered all my customisation parts from Zanottis (over AUD $6,500). The service is excellent (emailJohn McIntyre) and everything was shipped properly with no issues. Saving on Australian retail prices was around 50% excluding shipping, or 30% including shipping and customs. Be careful if you order over AUD $1,000 of product as that's the trigger point for customs charging duty and GST. Duty is 5% on most parts (only when the total shipment is over $1,000) but the GST at 10% does add up rather fast.
Zanotti mainly do HD catalogue pieces but they can do a few non HD products. They sourced my Arlen Ness 3" controls for me again at half what Cassons wanted for them in Sydney.
Hi FXSTD, who fitted your SERT, I've a couple of questions to ask them? Do you know if they were able to turn off the 'Active Exhaust and Intake Valve' function?
Thanks mate, John
