I had my SERT installed by a dealer - Peter Stevens Ringwood. TheJ version of theCD ROM does allow the Active Exhaust & Intake valve to be turned off, its a check box click. I opted to leave it active to manage engine heat (as i do a bit of city commuting) and exhaust noise as i installed the BR which are way over the legal sound limit.
If you wanted to turn off the active exhaust function without the cost of SERT, speak to Mick from big joe choppers http://www.bigjoechoppers.com.au/eliminators.html. He's developed solonoids that you attach to the intake and exhaust actuators that effectively locks them open. There is a thread here somewhere too (but i can't find it in my history at present).
