If both of you are right, it sounds like I need to check with the dealer........
Id advise you to get that 1000 mile service in on time........you will find small particles of metal shavings in the old fluid......which need to come out. Plus the intial breakin period is important to the life of your ride.

I asked my dealer about how critical it was to get it done under 1000 miles and they were not at all concerned about it going over a couple of hundred miles. I even asked if the motor company would have any concerns and they said no...
