Hello, I just bought a wrecked 2002 FXST. The forks were bent a bit. When I tried removing them from the trees, it was extremely hard to pull out. I figured the trees were bent. After a little hammering, I got them out. Bothe of the bottom tree clamps were bent.
What I mean to ask is if a 2000 FXST triple tree and stem would fit my 2002 FXST. I found one for cheap and the guy says it was just a "take off" and not a wreck. I had already purchased some 41mm forks. I googled and found that the 2000 FXST forks are aslo 41mm, but Im not sure if the stem and size will fit the frame. Will the locking mechanism also work?
