Removing Tins On A 2002 FXST
Preparing to get the 2002 FXST (Standard) in for paint and have never removed tins before. Front fender is not a problem but the tank and rear bobtail is where I have some doubt. I found a service manual that is titled 2000 Softail models but before I buy it was wondering if that covers the 00-06 models as well.
Any advice/tricks that may not be in the manual would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty easy job. Toughest part is dealing with the tank crossover without getting gas everywhere. You can find most of the info on YouTube. I would recommend unbolting the fender/fender rails off as an assembly but first loosen all of the bolts holding your fender to the rail. Then unbolt the rail at the frame and you’re done. If you don’t loosen the bolts while the fender is still on the bike you might have a hell of a time after.
