Default Shifter Linkage

Does changing the adjustment of shifter linkage affect the transmission in any way. My thoughts are it’s for rider comfort.
Thanks for the input

I'm going to agree with your assessment , I adjusted mine because the rear shifter peg on my King was to high for my heal to make the shift with ease , I rotated the lever a couple of notches and made a minor adjustment so the peg wouldn't hit the floor board . I think most of the adjustment is made by rotating the lever , and the adjustment on the linkage is for fine tuning it .

Thanks for the input....my heel shifter is gone, I am also getting rid of that terrible zinc shifter rod and wanted to make sure what I was doing didn’t affect the shifting. I was 99% sure it wouldn’t.
Thanks.

I just put on this cheapo version from Amazon, a whopping $18. Does the trick.

Why adjust the linkage just moving the shifter arm is what you want to do and it won't affect the transmission.

Just make sure the shift rod is parallel to the bike. If it's on an angle you run the risk of it binding and shifts will become more difficult.
