Default Installing Fork seals

how did you do it? all I'm doin is trying to mash em in there, I bought some pvc pipe, cut it in half and then duct taped it together around me fork. I've been using that as kinda a slide hammer, but it won't get em in far enough. any ideas? I mean these things are tough to smash in there.

Are the fork tubes off? I used PVC, but left it long enough to tap the end with a hammer.

you can also take them forks when off the bike to your local indi or hd shop, hand em 10.00 to 20.00 bucks and they will put the seals and dust covers on for ya... and torque the drain bolt and the other one...(bottom of shock)

my fork seal was a few days late and I wanted my bike done.. was apart in my garage, brought it to the dealer, gave em 15 bucks and they put the seals in place and filled the shock with my own fork oil.. and torqued everything... but they put my dust caps on wrong..so I had put my bike back together and road a bit, then noticed it, so I pulled everything off again heh.. and by that time my fork seal installer came.. so I pulled off the dust covers (sledgehammer and a punch..tapped em out to edge and used a fat screw driver to lift em out) then put the fork seal installer on and re-seated the dust covers in the correct position..slapped em on my bike and everything was good to go

1 3/4" exhaust pipe from auto zone for $6. Works like a champ.
