Default 04 Softail- Vented or Non Vented gas cap??????

Looking at purchasing an aftermarket gas cap for my 2004 Night Train EFI. It is a right hand thread cap (just like stock) but is non vented.

I have done searching high and low on here, and I can't seem to find a straight answer-- does my bike need a vented gas cap? If it does, could I solve the issue with the aftermarket cap by something as simple as drilling a hole right through it?

Here is the cap in question

I would think non-vented is what you want.
my '02 softail has vent built into tank. i would assume yours is same.

Is yours carburetor or fuel injection? Seems to make a difference in some of the posts I read, but I still cant seem to figure out which will work for my setup

I have a carbed 2001 softail and an EFI 2003 softail..... both tanks have the same vent, in the same spot...

I looked up an EFI 2004 Night Train, and the tank part numbers vary by color, but all have the same vent...

There is a difference between the carb tanks and the EFI tanks, but it's not the vent..... An EFI tank will have a large access plate in the middle of the tank, while the carb tanks have a mounting tab in the middle of the tank and the only access is through the fuel cap and by removing the small round sending unit in the left side, fake gas cap....
