Default seat and pain (location)

Hi All,

I have read lots of posts about changing seats for long rides because of pain etc, but I want to be sure I'm understanding right and that the 'pain' people are trying to alleviate is the same for me beofre I go looking for a replacement seat.

I have a 2013 Fat Boy Lo with stock seat and after an hours riding the pain is right at the top of my *** cheeks. It's like the seat pushes everything up into a bunch at the back and eventually every bump I go over is pretty painful...is that the same for everyone?

I know what your talking about , my problem was my tail bone , got really sore after a few hrs . Sounds to me like your trying to push yourself back on the upswing of the seat . Maybe purchasing a seat that will sit you back a couple inches will help .

Go to your local HD dealer and try some demo seats, it's free!

I have a Mustang seat with a backrest on my 2015 and also a wider passenger seat. They are fantastic!!! Can ride for hours! First thing I changed on my bike when I purchased it!

tailbone here after an hour or more continuous seat time.
Not so sure it's the seat as much as the forward controls on my Deuce .
Never had the tailbone trouble on my son's Dyna

My friend always had trouble with his tailbone when he had his Deuce , until he bought his new Breakout , it came with a seat that had the " divot " down the center . We've done many miles together and he said his trouble's are long gone because of it . I'm looking at getting my seat done with that same divot down the center to remedy my issue as well .

Seats are one of the most subjective parts on your bike.... everybody's butt, posture, priorities are different.

One man's "awesome seat" is another man's "piece of junk"... Everybody wants and feels something different. Then, if you include appearance in the equation.... you'll go broke chasing other people's "best seat" choices...

There are firm seats and soft seats... and people who LOVE each style. There are big, supportive seats for comfort and sleek, designer seats for looks.... and people who LOVE each style...

Read a lot... and pay attention to the details of people's opinions. Take advantage of any opportunity to try a seat that may be on your short list...

Eventually... you'll have to try the seat you're considering or take a leap of faith.... Until you have your butt in the saddle for a few hundred miles... you'll never know for sure what fit/feels best to you....
