got my '07 black pearl bout a month ago. got 1400 miles on it now exactly a month old. it is my first street bike since i was 14 (now i am 30) when i rode a kaw ke100 and my dad's then bike honda cb650. it is alot of fun and i am getting used to the drag bars and the whole riding style.
i am new to the board here so i hope to pass on what little knowledge i have and hopefully take advantage of most of yours.
my train back-fired and died at 224miles. trailered it back to the dealer and they replaced the ecm. 1200 miles lated i have had no more problems.
it blew a little "neck grease" onto the front of the fuel tank but that has stopped now. there were also a few loose screws that i am guessing were loose from the factory and the dealer did not notice either. all tightened up now.
hope to get hooker darksides but they are not available at this time with the sensor ports for '07s. dealer says a power commander bypassing the sensors will not do anything to the warranty.just thinking that story might change if something bad does happen. anybody had any issues related to this? i have heard the "unplug the pc and put the original back on" story already but i am not technically savy by any stretch of the imagination.
glad to get involved on hear finally and hope to hear back from somebody out there on the darkside
My first train was a 99, actually it was my first Harley. wanted aHD all my life, and it was dream come true. I did everything to it and it looked bada$$. Sold it for a new 04 Electraglide Classic (mistake), put HD in it(HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS) and then sold it for my new 07Train that I got last July, had to have that 200mm rear tire.. Ihave got this thing tricked to my style staying true to the black theme. Good luck with yours, and keep an eye on that tire plug.

You can get just about any pipes for an 88 (2006 & earlier), which opens up plenty of pipe options for you. They bolt up just fine, and do not hage O2 sensor bungs. If you install a Power commander PCIII USB, you'll get O2 eliminators which are little resistor plugs that go on the ends of the wires where the sensors used to be. this is necessary to trick the computer into thinking the sensors exist and the readings are normal.
the nice thing about the PCIII is that you can tune it yourself, or download maps from their website. With a SERT tuning from the dealer, they have to do it.
I also have an 07 Pearl NT... This bike rocks man...
Ihave an 07 Train with Samson Ground Pounder big gun III'S and a PC III with the Arlen Ness Big Sucker air intake. I bypassed the O2 censors andI havenotany problems at all.
my wish list:
hooker darksides scallop cut
power commander III
k&n custom air cleaner assembly (rk-3909)-i like this b/c i can keep my stock black cover
