2008 FLSTC, Ordered today
The new bikes sound like lawnmowers. Even slip-ons will make it sound much better than stock. And if you just go with slip-ons (inexpensive), you probably don't need a Stage 1 download unless you get a new Air Cleaner. You could just go with slip-ons until the 1000 mile service, then decide if you want to go further.
I went with V&H True Duals because of the look, and K&N.I would steer anyone away from the V&H Fuelpak. It's a piece of crap.
The stock seat seems very comfortable at first, but gets old after a few hundred miles. I went with the Mustang wide studded solo w/backrest and wide pillion. If your better half rides with you, you'll want a different pillion - fast. I was going to get the HD wide Touring Pillion before I discovered the Mustang.
Went with the Mustache Engine Guard w/integrated hwy pegs. Great purchase.
Went with Kuryakyn ISO grips. A cheap mod but they're great. ISO grips are on a LOT of bikes, but there's a reason - they're comfortable.
Enjoy the bike.
Pics below are after putting on the new exhaust and engine guards - doesn't show the Mustang seat or grips.

AC and pipes are a given. Powercommander too.
Like above if you are going to do any two up riding throw on the passenger floorboards. Another option I recommend is the kit to turn your rear turn signals into brake lights...much much brighter and safer.
