I did a search, but couldn't find anything......How hard are these to install? I almost bought a set today, but when I looked in the box at the dealership, I noticed a set of adjustment bolts. Is this something that can be put on in the driveway, or do I need to lift the bike? The last thing I need is for the axle to move forward when I remove the stock adjustment bolt! Thanks for any advice.....
It is a very simple install. You are removing the alignment bolt but not moving the axle at all. The aligment bolt goes right back in once the cover clip is slipped over it. No jack required.
Pretty sure you will have to take the stock mufflers off and caliper.. Anyone recall?
Both alignment bolts have to come out all the way for the axle cover mount plates to thread through the alignment bolts..
It's all cloudy for me now for some reason...
Thanks for the complements on the bike..
Nice blue tins!
If NC is putting them on the Fatboy in his signature he will need to pull off one or both slip ons. Still an easy project and anyone that can turn a wrench can do it.
Thanks again guys, I'm actually planning on putting on some Rush slip ons tomorrow night, (also PC & K&N) so I figured this would be the best time to do it. I just don't want to screw up the axle alignment! With the adjustment bolts removed, it looks to me like the axle could easily slip forward.....I don't have a whole lot of wrenching experience, just trying to learn as I go.
Commander...nice Rockwell in your avatar!Used to fly years ago, still in the industry just on the management (desk) side of things now.....
