Hey guys, first I tried to search this before posting with no luck, dont know if my search term skills suck or what but it is what iy is.
I have a new to me 09 heritage softail and the front brakes are pulsing / grabbing bad enough that even with my 49 years of ridding 2 wheels I am nervous about dropping the bike coming to a stop.
In addition when I pull in the front brake ;ever there's a audible squeak that may or may not have anything to do with it, not your typical brake lever squeak but louder anyway, I looked at the rotar and I am pretty good at seeing straight lines and dont see anything bent but do understand that even a miniscule bend could be causing this.
So my question is have any of you guys riding these bikes had a similar issue to help me isolate the problem?
and thanks so much ahead of time, I have a broken hip and dont need to dump my bike at a stop sign, it brakes fine other than pulsing at a stop.
Thanks again, I plan on bringing it to Harley soon if I cant figure it out.and fix it myself
Most likely the culprit . While your at it , have a look at your break pads and replace them if necessary . Go another step further and clean up your calipers and cylinders . Put a small layer of anti seize on the back of the pads and the pins as well .

will do and thanks, will try that out just priced out a new rotor and pads not too bad if I do it myslef.
So you think the brake lever loud squeaking is normal?

No , not normal . The only thing I can think of that could be causing your " squeak " would be the pivot pin or pin bushing . If you look under the lever you'll see a retaining lock ring , you'll have to remove that and check the bushing for wear . It could be warn out or dry . If it looks good , clean it up and add a thin coat of anti seize or grease .

it sounds like its coming from the rubber around the internal switch.
I have some new levers to install so I will get a better look at it when I take the old ones off, could be a tear binding up on that rubber boot or something
