130/90B16 on front of 2011 Heritage Softail Classic (load rating)
Worried that the overall weight combined with braking in the corners, or even worse, steep mountain downhill braking, over stress the front tire 130/90B16 with a load rating of only 67 (677lbs)
The HD stock tire being the D402 (MT90B16) has a load rating of 72 (783lbs). A difference of + 100 lbs is a huge weight load sacrifice moving to the 130/90B16. Between the Dry Weight, feul/oil, rider with gear, passenger with gear, and cargo, the overall weight can exceed 1300 lbs (unless your ol lady is a twig, then shave off my math)
Yes, the quick answer should be....just order in the MT90B16 instead (but it is 1 week out). I am the dumb@$$ for waiting too long, and I just noticed my front tire is cracking, and I have a big ride coming up.
My local shop has as a Dunlop Elite 4 130-90B16 in stock, and I can get it changed immediately. Or I can skip my ride and wait for a Commander 2 for the front.
I know others have said on the forums, that they have had no issues running the lighter 130/90B16, but I was curious about the math and g-force on the front tire.
Unfortunately, maybe the guys that had problems, sadly never made it back onto the forums to make negative comments.

ps. Currently running factory Dunlop D402 on front, and Michelin Commander 2 on back. Unmatched combo has been working good for 10,000 miles, rock solid ride. So don't beat me up over it.
