2006 Fatboy, factory handlebars and turn signals. I want to relocate the turn signals to the forks, and I think I have the necessary hardware.
I know the signals run to a plug on the right side of the tank. I plan on pushing the pins out and leaving the wiring complete.
My question: once I break open the switch housings and disconnect the turn signals from the housings, do you guys think it is possible to pull out only the turn signal wiring thru the handle bars, and leave the other wires in place? I will be putting apes on it later when it gets cold, but I'd like to get the turn signals done now and out of the way, literally.
It appears to me that the wires from the turn signals are routed thru the switch housings.
Ok, I see what you mean...I didn`t think about the signals being so close to the housings so obviously they are routed through...
The wires that you need to move do not go to the switches themselves, they go down the the TSSM.
It looks like you can just de pin the wires down at the connector as you said. You won`t be messing with the wires that go to the turn signal switches.
Connector 31B, 2 Black wires, 2 Blue wires, one Violet wire, one Brown wire.
Hope I didn`t screw you up...

turn signals are routed thru the switch housings because all wires are inside the handlebar. But the turn signal cables are not joined to the swtichs, are individually to the connector under the tank.
