06 still had the raised emblem golf. Lowered rear is a plus for some. Can always be adjusted Back up with most lowering bolt or shockS. A plus if it has air ride hidden under there.
. Did you check it for codes or does the speedo not have power. Ive seen the harness come unplugged before.
If you buy it I have a stock speedo Ill send you for shipping or a white faced nostalgia speedo for 50$ + shipping. I have the clone cable you can borrow also. If the speedo is the problem.
Some times you dont need the cable sometimes you do. G.
yes you right on the emblem. I have an 06 standard and that has the decal under the clear coat. It's funny because I put a Night Train emblem on my 09 Heritage and completely forgot about it. Good catch
Thanks for the replies, everyone.
I need to ask the seller if he has maintenance records. From what the seller tells me, the speedo is broke but the miles are accurate and when he rides it the miles are being added to the total.
I like all the mods that have been done.
The thing that worries me is that this NT has been for sale for 5 months now. Other NTs around here sell a lot quicker.
Not sure why that one has been for sale for so long. If I were looking for a bike, I'd seriously consider this one. I'd want to do a test ride and confirm the ODO is still working even if the speedo is not. I do most of my own work on my bike however, so little issue don't scare me. It looks like a clean otherwise bike.
The mods don't add value but if you like them, that puts you ahead. If the seller has the front fender, get it. If not, you can build or buy one easy. It's a bolt on part. I've been going without a front fender for 7 or 8 years. Riding in sucks, and sucks even more without it. Unless you wear a FF helmet, put a fender on it. Also, if you aren't going to run it with a fender, it needs a brace.
One thing I'd check very closely is the condition of the front tire and the fork seals. Look for any abnormal wear. I'd be concerned about how long it has been ridden without the fender or a brace. The front end can twist and cause abnormal handling and wear without the two legs being connected preventing them from twisting. Like I said, I run no fender but I have a Springer.
Spoke to the seller and he does not have any maintenance records. He says he has the original 12" front fender but the bike has a 23" front tire so I am not sure if that fender will fit. He also says the bike had a suicide shifter than has been converted back to original. I am thinking there are so many mods on this bike, it might be a headache down the line.....
maybe you missed the part about the speedometer not working.
Maybe you missed the part about possible cause and offering op two different speedos . And maybe the part about taking it to an Indy to look it over. A simple scope check in cylinders and possibly a compression check are good indicators of condition and mileage. Another thing I see is an oil pressure gauge. That will also tell you things after it warms up. As far as the fork seals leaking they suck. I replace a lot of them for people. Pretty common item. Bike is 14 years old, some maintenance needed weather they are ridden or not.Good price for that bike if it checks out. You can buy front fenders cheap. Hell I might have one I’ll give him.

Quite a few issues, how much will you have to drop to bring it up to par. Need an indy to go over it before purchase. My .02.
A lot of garage queens out there for the that kind of money and no issues.
