I am picking up an extra set of factory wheels for my 2005 Fatboy, As we all keeping these things looking great can be an issue. I am thinking of getting them powered coated. Don't really want to go with chrome.......My bike is 2 tone Blue and white and I am having a hard time coming up with Ideas so Just looking for suggestions. and if you have pictures even better!!
Owned two FB's, an '05 95CI anniversary edition, and this current '19 FLFBS.
Solid wheels suk, find a set with the holes instead of solid for your year.
Todays FB rims have an outer ridge that cut the wind much better than the solids.

A lil food for thought.
Thanks. I don't have an issue with the solid rims.
Cross wind and solid wheel, ouch. Just a lil input.
Is that based on actual experience or science?
I wonder, because I'm thinking the centrifugal force of the spinning wheel would be more than enough to counter the lateral pressure exerted by high winds. Also, in fast cross winds it would be an uncomfortable ride regardless of the rims and I think the danger from the winds would have to be enough to make riding dangerous long before the wheels being solid were a determining factor.

@Tampa Fatboy you know that’s a bunch of crap. All bikes catch the wind, because from the side, they’re big and flat. Solid wheels vs spoke wheels makes little to no difference.
