Default lowering fatboy

New member looking for guidance on lowering my 99 Fatboy. Let me give you a little of the back story. This past summer I started to notice a clunk in the front end, nothing major just started. Rode home from work one night and crossed a set of railroad tracks that I do every night, just at 2:30 in the morning didn't notice they had cut massive grooves besides rails and filled them with large rocks that have been thrown out or smashed into ground. Next morning got up to go to church, told wife I'd meet her and the boys there and took off on bike. got about half way there and clunk was real noticeable and front suspension felt real soft and loud when I hit bumps. Got to church look at front end for anything loose, couldn't find anything. However did notice oil running down slider tube. Figured I had blown a seal I just went on in to church and rode it home and parked it. Started to take front end apart to replace seal and found more than just a seal was wrong! Pinch bolt in triple tree had broke and slider tube had dropped a good 3 inches! So this is where I am at now. So for those that have lowered yours what have you used and do you like it or not? Thanks all.
