Well, I'm one who doesn't understand personifying a bike or a car by giving it a "name", let alone always calling it by its "name".....
But hey... it's your bike.... do as you wish...
BUT, she definitely has a "personality", and I know her literally inside and out. Finally, riding her is very therapeutic for me. No matter how bad a day I've had or how sad I might be for whatever reason, or if I'm experiencing negative feelings or having a run of bad luck, etc... the second I throw a leg over her saddle, I begin to feel better, and as I ride off, to wherever, I feel the bad **** melting away. Winter's are difficult for me, and this year has been such a **** show, I'm even more bummed about not being able to ride for a few months than usual...
As for the OP & his question, Ill stick with my 2015 Heritage - the new bike has some improvements but when you modify your bike, its set up for your body & how you want it........so when buying a new bike I always compare it to what I have because I like the fitment of how my bike is set up, when the new Heritages came out & I sat on one & compared - well heres the Mod`s list: would need - new seat, new handgrips, back rest for momma at least - more like a tour pack & the luggage rack, the foot pegs are garbage and so now I need passenger foot rests, the saddlebags are TERRIBLE so im screwed there, the windscreen is not my favorite so in time that would need changed or a fairing. any way just basic mods for the wife & I to ride was gonna be around 24K +, I dont think so!
When i rode it.......... it sounds awful, well - it really has no sound, yes the bikes lighter but when I put on it what i want the weight comes back up, suspension was nice Ill admit, But........... this new iteration of the Heritage sure resembles the early model Yamaha V-stars, look at the swing arm, monoshock region, then the pipe configuration is almost identical, Yep HD put a M8 in a yammy frame and called it a Heritage.
I just saw too many negated items that make the Heritage a Heritage - at least to me, & this new model when I brought up the dislikes - many took it to heart because they already bought it & seemingly have to justify the purchase???? Ill stick with my "Black Pearl" 2015 Heritage & when the time comes Ill just rebuild it, My son in Law has my old 2002 Heritage & that bike runs strong, so the thoughts of the M8 owners saying the 107/114 are the best engines ever & busting on the TC...... well lets see a new heritage 18 years down the road & see if its still going.
