I have a 2009 FXSTC with stock bars and need to replace by bushings. While I am doing that I want to do either a 1" or 1.5" risers. When ordering they ask what size bars which I assume are 1" but the risers are bigger diameter. This is what confuses me and at the same time what height riser without messing with the cables. Is there enough slack to do this without rerouting them. This my first HD and only had it for 1.5 years.
Take the top clamp off
have a friend hold the barsup at a point where the cables are not being stressed
measure the space from bars down to riser mounting point
pick which riser will work
