Default Key fob question

2016 CVO Breakout, 1 fob has lock and unlock buttons you press to arm and disarm the bike. The other fob does not have the lock/unlock buttons and doesn't appear to work at all. Both fobs lock and unlock the forks.

And yes I replaced the batteries in both fobs and they're in correctly. Do I need to have the fob without the lock/unlock buttons reprogammed or buy another fob with the lock/unlock buttons and have it programmed?

From the factory, your bike came with two CVO proximity fobs with the built in retractable key and the lock/unlock buttons. No need to push buttons to arm/disarm the security system as it's done automatically. The lock/unlock buttons on the fob are for CVO models equipped with power locking forks, saddlebags, and tourpaks, none of which are on your model, so the lock/unlock feature is basically unusable. Locking the forks is accomplished by inserting the key into the steering neck lock mechanism. Replacement proximity fobs, whether standard, or CVO style, must be assigned to the bike via the dealer's digital technition tool in order to function.

Thanks barneyboy, looks like the non push button one needs to be reprogrammed. As I said they both lock/unlock the forks and the one with the lock/unlock buttons do flash the turn signal lamps 1 or 2 flashes depending on which button is pushed, so I assume it's only good for a light show!

Are you sure the forks are locked/unlocked with the the fob? In any event, fobs are not programmable. The bike's ECM is programmed to accept the fob's serial number.

The forks lock and unlock with the flip out key on both fobs. The fob without the lock/unlock switches does not allow the bike to start/run when close to or on the bike. I need to get it or the ecm programmed to accept it.
