I’m new to softail and need to know if I could lower a Softail Heritage or Softail Custom by installing a set of Softail Deluxe shocks. I searched for OEM shock length but can’t find anything.

Deluxe shocks will lwr it almost an inch.
I’ve had em in the past.
Didn’t care for the ride.

Really? I thought all stock shocks for Softails were the same length. I know there was an option for a shock that was long enough to lower them 1/2"-3/4".
To the OP: A set of Progressive 422s will allow you to set the height to your needs or wants. And improve the ride quality.
I thought it would be the same shock with a shorter bolt. I have seen the progressives but saw a set of Deluxe shocks for $50, Worth trying that before putting out the money for the progressives.

Softails are bass akwards. The longer the shock, the lower it gets.
On the shocks with the adjustable height bolts, 1/8" diff down
below will probl drop the bike an inch.
I ran my 2000 Heritage lowered for about a year.
I had the Harley "Profile" shocks (Stock on Deluxe) I also had stock
shocks with the adjustable bolts (Like I have now on the 03)
And I had Progv 422's.
Looked cool sitting in the parking lot.
Hated the ride
