Default Apes Q

2001 Softail Standard with stock risers and buckhorns. I am considering the HD 12 inch fat apes with the included risers.
Think I will need a longer set of cables and wires?
I am swinging around the dealer to see. .

Just have to fit them up to see how much cable length and brake line length is there, it may have enough slack but it may not cannot say for sure without visuals.

I just swung by my Indy. He is ordering the HD bars/riser and the HD turn signal relo kit. Also ordered the set of 4 inch over cables and lines from Drag Specialties. Should work out.

I was about to suggest 4 or 6 over. Looks like you got it sorted. 6 over on my 14s did me right, so you should have enough room to route them cleanly without binding.

I went from 10” buckhorn with 4” pull back risers to 14” bars on 2” risers and needed 8” extensions to do internal wiring.
Also when I took off the buckhorns the first time to go with a traditional 10” bar I needed to go with the 2” risers to get my cables to work.
