I have a set of stock HD mini apes (10.25" rise and 6.5" pullback) with 4.5" risers under them. The stock cables fit fine, and I like the height. I want to go to a 1.25" ape bar that has the same geometry when mounted to stock 1.5" risers. So I am looking for a set of 1.25" OD apes with about a 13" rise. The problem is I see some listed with a rise of 13, but an end rise of 16". What is the difference in the measurements? I don't want to order the wrong set because they are pretty spendy to ship. The ones I am looking at are V-Factor Apes with these specs:
[ul][*]End Rise: 13 1/2 in.[*]Pullback: 9 in.[*]Rise: 16 in.[/ul]Again, I would mount these on 1.5" risers instead of the 4.5", so I would lose 3" in riser and gain it back in bars. Would they be about the same height at the controls as my 10.25" stocks mounted with 4.5" risers?
RE: Help, please. Ape Hanger Geometry - Any Ideas?
So I probably need to do a cable swap if I go with these V-Factors? Is there any slack in the stock cables I can take up if I remove the tank? Thanks. Really I need to get ahold of someone who has these bars and see what they needed for cable lengths.
