Default Help - missing belt guard bracket?

Can anyone help with a photo of how the lower belt guard is attached at the front end?
Mine is loose and I think I'm missing a bracket or something.

6 is acorn bolt Part No 8201 for all softails (2017)

Looks like a Rocker...this is the guard assembly.

It appears to me the acorn bolt (#8) is present on the OP's bike.

The acorn bolt goes through a tab on the swingarm, and into a threaded insert in the lower belt guard from the outside. Why would they use a decorative chrome acorn bolt on the backside?

I'm the original poster....
Part of the confusion here is that the parts diagram are drawn from the other side, so everything looks back to front compared to the photos.
I'm missing the piece on the extreme left of this image; so I haven't got anywhere to secure this piece at the front.
This also doesn't look like a separate part on the parts drawing. I make have to fabricate something....

Are you the original owner? Perhaps the previous owner cut the front mounting point off for some reason, and was in the process of fabricating something to replace it? This hole in yours is not found on the OE guard.
