Default Accessory power on a Heritage

Where is the best place to tap into 12v accessory power on a Heritage? 2009 Heritage.

For my Heritage, I added this:
https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...it;sp_cs=UTF-8
Only comes with one switch, you have to buy more separately.

Powered it from the battery, but now I have a switch. On my handlebars I have this:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The second switch goes to the passing lamps (because I hated the switch behind the forks). The third used to be wired to the LED lighting that I have since removed.

Though not all current, I wrote up a blog post on it a while back:
https://twowheelsonebike.wordpress.c...o-do-it-right/

It's just part of my habit now to start the bike, turn on the two switches. Turn the bike off, grab my phone, turn off the switches.

Got a test light? I would use the headlight wire, that way when the headlight is on you will have power and if the light is off you won't.

I was an avionics tech in the Aor Force, I can handle that.

wondering if there is accessory power under the fork cover near the headlight, or do I need to pull the tank? Or ???

Thanks, that second option from Amazon is something like what I have in mind, except I don’t need a cigarette lighter plug-in so maybe I can find a smaller one that I can hide out of sight.

thanks, I’ll check out the blog post.

On my 2011 RK, I use an orange wire with a white stripe for switched power( 6'' back from headlight plug ). look around for an orange wire with white stripe and test it....
