Hello everyone, I own and ride a 2001 softail duece and I love it. My question is, I’d like to add a springer to my bike but I think the front end has more rake then other motorcycle models produce.d by Harley if this is the case then I think I’d need to buy a springer front end with longer down tubes. Does anyone know any more about this. I’d really love to hear feedback from the softail owners concerning this issue. Thanks a lot.
As far as I know, all twin cam Softail
frames are the same. Any rake on
FX models are built into the triple
tree.
I’ve wondered what a regular narrow
glide front end would look like on a
Deuce. Dual disc of course.
I did a quick check and the 2001 Softail Deuce lists a replacement frame as part #48887-00B
The 2001 Softail Springer (FXSTS) lists a replacement frame as part #47008-00C
So there is a difference in the frames. They use the exact same frame picture on both parts lists, so I'm not sure where the differences are... but they obviously exist..
Probably a good idea to do some more research, before assuming a springer front end would be a straight bolt-on mod....
Good luck and let us know what the final outcome is.....
