6'2'' and the riding position felt all wrong on my Softail. If you like the retro look go with a sprung saddle or pogo mount saddle it made all the difference for me.

Another vote for the sprung solo seat. At 58 and a 30 inseam even I felt cramped on the new Softail. The lower seat and raised foot boards made me feel like I was squatting on the bike. The sprung seat gave me the extra legroom I needed. Its also the most comfortable seat Ive ever used on a bike.
Looking to buy a softail,,I am 6-2 ,,any comments as to what fit might be compared to say a Road King?
Curious as to why you have limited yourself to a softail? Softail owners please don't take offense by the word limited , I own one now and have owned many in the past. Are you just looking for a lighter bike?

I'm 6' 3" and I ride an FLSTF for the last 22 years.
What I have done is change the bars to wider beach type but not super wide. I then installed forward controls with 1 inch spacers to widen out my leg position.
I have two seats that I use, one being a low slung version with minimal area for passenger. I use this around town mostly as it will kill you on long runs.
My other is the factory two up which is wider and a little higher.
This one is good for all day riding.
For solo, non freeway riding, the Heritage is the best cruiser/tour ever made. Ask any 6 year old to draw a motorcycle. They will draw a Heritage every time. Smart ones will even label the front fender. Most people believe God rested on the seventh day. Read Genesis 2:2 closely. On the seventh day, God rested some, then got up and created a bagger. He named it Heritage.
My personal, biased opinion that is no better than any other opinion. Just spirited conversation.
