So I just picked up a 2011 fatboy lo from a friend. It's been sitting for a while and has some pawpaw stuff like windshield and bags that will get ditched. Also got a legends air ride from another bike I built that I'm going to throw on it with some exhaust and such. Wheels and lowers will be powdercoated this winter along with a cam and tune, maybe a big bore kit. Anybody had any issues with theirs? Favorite mods? And can you do anything to cover that ugly a$$ ABS canister in the front?
If you're gonna seriously dig into that engine plan on pulling your crank to fix runout.
I would ride it around for a while and get a feel for that bike then figure out what you want to do with it. I couldn't imagine life without saddlebags even as an around town ride.
The Lo is one of the sexiest bikes the company has put out but it lacks in the other departments.

I had a 2011 Lo and sold it last year for a Road Glide, which is now for sale and I am buying another Fat Boy.
I might be interested in the bags - send me a PM and I will give you my email address.
Here's how she sat when I picked her up. Minus the slightly discolored wheels from my buddy using degreaser to clean off dirt on an aluminum wheel...... but I can fix it.
Not bad for a ten year old bike, got less than 5K miles on it and I picked it up for a song!
There's a nice long thread for ideas. I've had an FXR forever and a Road King that nobody ever notices. The Lo is always getting complimented. You don't have to do much to make them really stand out.

You are a gentleman and a scholar sir! Thank you very much!
