I know this subject is beaten to death, but how high/back can i go on my deluxe with bars and use stock cables? I have a set of stock freewheeler bars from my wife's trike, basically a 12" mini ape, and need to know if i'm gonna eed cables, brake line, or just wire extensions. It's an 08 deluxe, bars are off of 15 freewheeler. Thank you
I asked this question a lot when I was looking for bars for my road king. Just look at where your bars would mount with the desired setup and then eyeball if your cables and stuff will reach.
You can usually get away with 4" extension. Chart below should help you. Deluxe brings a lot to the table when it come to modding for style. I put Carlini Pist apes on mine since I liked the detachable widscreen. Lil pricey but worth it.
You will need cables and lines with a wire extension for 12" bars. Not a bad thing when you can put on a lot better cables and lines than comes with a 13 year old bike.
