Default Night train Build

this has been an ongoing project since I bought the bike a few years ago. Currently it has 14” monkey bars, engine Gaurd, floor boards, big radius exhaust, fork wrap front turn signals, lepara bare bones seat, and a smoked tailight with integrated turn signals.

plans for the bike include
1. FLS front end
2. 23” spoke wheel
3. batwing speaker fairing
4. Stretched tank/tank covers
5. extended dash
6. 2into1 side exit exhaust
7. King/queen seat

i am undecided on going with a Fatboy type fender or stretched fender and bags from bad dad .

14” Monkey bars being installed.

Engine gaurd and cheap floorboard with adapter to see if I liked them before buying the brackets

My corona virus quarantine boredom led to me making a get back whip.

Found a spitfire slipstreamer at a good price and figured I would throw it on and get a little bit of wind protection while I’m searching for an FLS front and then buy a batwing. I haven’t decided if I like the way it looks or not.

Default Finally getting rolling

After over a year since I planned this build we are finally starting to get rolling. I have spent a lot of time acquiring parts for the build.

I ripped the front end off this last weekend and got it shipped off to a guy in Oregon. Pulled the tank, dropped my seat off at mean city for the extreme mod, dropped the sliders and risers off at the powdercoaters and started a little bit of mock-up with some spare parts I have.

things I have so far:

16” gangster apes to replace the 14” monkey bars

streetglide fender to be welded to the night train fender

14+ hard bags

FL front end

crash bar from a 2009 street glide I am going to modify to fit so I can run hard lowers

I have a speaker fairing, undecided if I want to use it or sell/trade for something else

a baddad stretched headlight nacelle

list of stuff I still need to get/do

vented lowers

Heritage/ Deluxe front fender

Stretch the tank

Splice rear fenders

modify crash bar to fit

footboard conversion from a cross bones

Build a suicide clutch/tank shift

and finally get everything painted and thrown back together.

I’ll be updating this thread as things progress.

here is the mock up of the spare front end parts with the baddad nacelle and my current bars.

Got parts back from the PC recently and spent the evening getting started on reassembly. Front forks rebuilt and installed, everything was going well until one of the slider cap stud sheared on me when I was putting the wheel on. So I am at a standstill for a couple days waiting on parts. Here is the Fatboy front end installed on the bike though before I sheared a stud.

yes, I know the slider covers don’t match the sliders. I rattle canned them black as a temporary solution to get rid of the chrome. These are banged up anyway and I will be ordering new ones to get painted with the tins this winter.

Got a little bit more work done. Fixed the broken stud in the slider, mounted the wheel and the deluxe fender. Sine my last update I have bought vented lower fairings, a scratched up windshield for $25 that I’m going to use the mounts after I get it PC’d, footboards from a softail slim and an advanblack engine guard. All that’s left to do is Button up the nacelle, swap controls to new handlebars and put on the lowers and she will be ready to ride for the next couple months until it gets stripped down for paint this winter.

New handlebars are on. Waiting for a trim ring in the mail that should be here tomorrow to button up the headlight. Next step will be footboard brackets off a softail slim and then some vented lower fairings. And then we will be done for a while until it’s ready to be shipped off for paint

Looks good RT! Can we see a pic from the side though showing the whole bike?
I'm a fan also of the full fenders...thinking of doing the rear as well? Before the paint?

yessir, I’ll take one when I get home from work. I am going to cut the night train fender in half and splice the back half of a streetglide fender to it. Inspiration from another forum member I seen on here that did the same thing, and then it will be getting standard 2014+ bags as well.
