Default Racetech fork spring install help

Hey guys,

Anyone installed a set of racetech fork springs on an early twin cam fatboy?

I've double checked the part number and it's correct according to racetech website.... but they are seriously shorter than the factory springs? It comes with some PVC piping to use for spacers, but looking at my springs, I'm going to need 230mm spacers to make these work? That can't be right.

Bike is an '02 fatty.
Any advice appreciated. I have contacted racetech, but no response yet.

Thanks

Mine were significantly shorter than stock. I believe because stock is progressive while racetech are straight. this was for my 2018 Heritage. Also installed emulators, which both combined made a world of difference over stock. No brake dive but still comy.

Yes, that's what I thought. But the spring length is actually written on the box below the part numbers... and it matches up?

Anyone?

I'm thinking of making the spacer just long enough so that the new spring and spacer equals the same length as the old stock spring??

Call Race tech or chase down Matt Wiley mwiley@racetech.com that guy has forgotten more about motorcycle suspension than most any of us could hope to learn. He helped me set up the forks with emulators on my V65 Honda some years ago, gave me his personal cell and everything as he'd never done one of those bikes before.

Email him, if he's anything like he was a few years ago you'll have an answer within 24 hours if not less.

Thanks, I've already emailed racetech with no response.
I'll try again with the email address you provided.
Cheers

i didnt do racetech.. think i did burley
but mine had that spring and small helper spring 2 washers and pvc spacers

seems to me that is missing some stuff, i know there different for every bike but mines a 98 fatty
and the kit i used was easy.
it went
long spring, helper, washer, pvc, washer then top nut
think i cut my pvc down to a inch and a 1/4

Thanks everyone, I did hear back from racetech thanks to the email address posted.
I have it sorted now 😎 but more detailed instructions would have been good
