I'm currently looking at a 2016 Slim S, it has under 7k miles.
Now that its out of the way i want to ask are there any known issues with this bike? I've looked all over online but I can only find videos from 2015-2018 reviewing the ride and specs. What i want to know is how it holds up in 2021 not when it was brand new. (7k miles is barely broken in)
The low miles also makes me wonder why was it traded in, did the ride suck, was it a lemon, did it crash and get repaired then traded.....so many questions. i asked the dealer they said he traded in for a larger bike a month ago. Who rides ONLY 7k since 2016 and wants a larger bike. Maybe I'm just over thinking it, but i would like to hear your thoughts and experiences.
I bought a 2015 Softail slim back in May this year, it had 5000 miles on it. I love the bike, I put new tires on it and just got the 10k maintenance done on it(it has 9600 miles on it now). I guess I didn't really question the mileage when I bought it, I know a lot of people who buy bikes, snowmobiles and other toys and hardly use them. The condition of the bike spoke for itself, and it was completely stock which was a selling point to me. If yours has the stock seat, you'll want to replace that.
I bought my 2017 Slim S used in 2019, it has been awesome. I changed the seat, put a new battery in it and the original owner had made some additions that I liked.
It has a Rinehart 2 into 1 exhaust and a V&H FP3 tuner, it sounds awesome. For shorter solo trips it is my go to bike for sure. I need to put a rear tire on soon, if I can find one. The only downside I can think of is it scrapes the boards pretty easily but once you are aware it is easy to avoid by moving your body and keeping the bike more upright. I really like that it is lightweight for a Harley and I can back it up easily, unlike my bagger which I have to plan ahead. That thing is so heavy that it makes the Slim feel like a bicycle! No regrets about this purchase, I wanted a "S" model which has the Screaming Eagle 110 motor & air filter, ABS and cruise which are a huge plus in my opinion. I think you will be happy with your purchase!
I had the Low Rider S and the only issue I heard of on the 110 was premature lifter failure. The factory used valve springs that were way too stiff and caused the issue.

do you remember the milage of when it happened, is that something they did a recall on( do they even make recalls?)
Since the bike is 200 miles away from me I had the sales person take photos of the blemishes. For the most part it looks like normal road ware except what I see on the crash bar and saddle bag support.
I bought my 2016 Slim S two years ago with 1,054 miles on the clock because the original owner was unable to ride any longer. I have over 7K on it now, have done the routine maintenance and have not had any issues at all. It’s a great bike and a lot of fun to ride. If you are going to be sitting in any traffic regularly, I highly recommend getting a crotch cooler from Captain Itch.
Looks like a Fl bike that never saw a garage with corrosion everywhere. Bike hasnt been taken care of from the looks of it.
Agreed! Appears as if it were left outside next to the beach in some salt-spray.
If it were in my location (Dallas) I would not even consider it....
You might want to find another one in better condition. What you
call 'blemishes' are not normal in my opinion.
