Run problem 2006 softail
Need help please-
This is a 06 softail deluxe fuel injection-
when cranking the engine, starts rite up . Then sputtering & small back firing then it dies . If I start up and give it throttle it will continue to run.I have googled this problem & that guided me to change the MAP sensor with no luck same problem. Then looked at a few videos online where it maybe other parts
make a long story short I’ve changed the injectors, intake air temp, throttle positioning sensor, map sensor, idle air control & engine temp sensor. With no avail the engine sounds a little better but still sputtering maybe not as violent .some one told me it may be the fuel pump itself . Any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance,

Just in case you have not done both of these two important items!
Be sure to add an Avatar of your favorite shot in the USER set up for the small picture others will see in the top left corner of your post with your USER name.
And most importantly a Signature Line in your USER set up for your bike model, year, and all the letters that Harley recognizes it with that others see at the bottom.
This enables others to know your exact model if you ever ask a question or another member interested in it may ask you a question about it.

When did it start? What is fuel pressure? How old is gas in tank. Mine did exactly that when I got a tank of bad gas. It would not run at idle without cracking throttle.
FI is lean at idle. When a filter stops up in tank, it loses idle. Also will lose it if area around closed butterfly is blocked with crud. IAC only gets 1/4 of idle. Is a tuner on bike?
