Default Saddle decision.

One of the few things I just can't seem to like on my Fatboy is the saddle that came on it. It is. 1 piece 2 up saddle and it just messes up the lines in my head. My better half has stated categorically that she is not going to ride with me, so I am going with a solo. I like the looks of the LePera Silouhette and Bare Bones, as well as the Brawler. Interested in others experience with those saddles as well as any other similar saddles.

May decide to go with a touring saddle, for comfort, but really appreciate the minimalist design of the saddles I mentioned. Just don't want to end up with one so uncomfortable that I can't do 3-5 hour rides

In my opinion, THIS is the most comfortable solo saddle I've ever ridden. There's a reason it's been in Harley-Davidson's inventory since 1947. the springing really smooths the ride noticeably and the leather surface and shape give me all day comfort. Yes, it sits a couple inches higher than stock, but the narrow nose makes flat footing the bike no worse than the stock seat. I have a 30" inseam and I can flat foot the bike bare foot.

I also love the "old school" looks.

Would love that, but not an option on a Fatboy

I like the OEM seat that came on the FatBoy's without the rear passenger part installed. Looks nice and clean and plenty comfortable for me.
My bike came with a really nice looking single seat that I do not know what brand it is but if you might be interested let me know.

I find the OEM riders seat on my Springer to be quite comfortable.....the passengers portion doesn't look near as comfortable but I ride 2 up so seldom that I couldn't care less.

Look up Mean City Cycles on the internet. They are great to work with and can customize your seat to make it comfortable for you and your wife. Less expensive than some other options. I used them several times and was very pleased.

my softail slim came with the stock seat, that didn't last a week. I found a used HD sundowner that is really comfortable but looks like a couch on the bike. Now that the bikes are put away for the winter, I bought a Corbin gunfighter. They take a while to make, as long as I get it by April/ May I'll be happy. I'm hoping the Corbin is as comfortable as everyone says it is.

Not true (unless the parts are obsolete). This is an older pic of my Slim with a pogo-style mount and a 1925-ish Police seat.

For my pogo-style mount, I started with these. Here's part numbers.

HD solo-seat installation kit #52000014
Lower Frame Cover : 49800-10

ECM (upper frame) Cover
--------------------------
#49801-10 : FXST & FLSTSB
#49802-10 : FLST/C/N
#49803-10 : FLSTF/FB
#69200097 : FXS / FLS

Those are not shown in the picture above, but if you'd like to see the HD frame cover pics, just let me know.

hope this helps,

T.

Seats an asses are different, what some love others hate. I actually have 2, not asses, seats, a solo and a touring seat Both are HD OEM's because I love the look and the lines. Leaping1 hit the nail on the head. Mean City Cycles is going to be bar far your best bet. C&C make a great saddle, but they're pretty firm. I've done several hours and several days on my seats. Both my Touring and Solo have been upgraded to their "Memory Foam" and my passenger pillion also, reshaped and actually sloped front to back to keep her against the backrest more, instead of sliding forward.
Love the Solo look, Not so sure on the Touring look.
Solo

Touring.

I really like those wheels....may I ask where they came from? I think they would look great on my Springer Classic.
