Default Windshield Options For Fatboy S With Nacelle

Ok everyone so I did do a search about this topic and have gotten some conflicting information so here's my post... I'm looking to do a quick connect sport type shield on my fatboy which has the nacelle...really looking at one of the memphis shades ones like the speed demon or del rio...the thread info I found said all I'd have to do is make sure the shield has the 9" opening, which to me makes sense... the speed demon has that option, and then just get the standard plate kit for my model bike.

Just to be sure I reached out to memphis shades via email and explained exactly what I'm looking to do...i tell them my year and model and the fact that the bike has a nacelle... i said I just wanted to confirm I need a 9" opening and can I order any shield they have in 9"......they responded that I need the 7" opening... I don't think that's right...as we all know that's the width of the headlight itself and probably the correct choice for a standard Fatboy, not the nacelle which is right around 9" at its widest point. 7" would barely cover the crown of it and doesn't seem like it would fit at all where as 9" looks like it would hug around the upper half of the nacelle as a shield should.

Am I missing something? Could it be the person who responded didn't even consider what information I gave them and just said what is needed for a stock Fatboy? That is what it seems to me...I'm pretty sure I need a 9" opening with the fatboy plate kit as the nacelle doesn't change the width of the overall bracketry over stock or the spacing top to bottom...just the overall headlight size.

Anyone have experience with this specific situation? Information would be greatly appreciated!

I think I'm just gonna order the 9" opening for either the Speed Demon or the El Paso (still decicing on which shield) and get the standard Fatboy plate kit/quick mount and call it a day!
