As I am doing this work on my bike (1997 FLSTC) I was considering changing/doing the brakes (front and rear) as well. A few years ago I bought some after market calipers, floating rotors and pads but discovered the calipers, that allegedly were suppose to fit the bike (direct bolt on) didn't so was left with what I believe are the stock calipers/brakes.
So to the point - I'd like to put "better" brakes on the bike front and rear and was thinking a 4 piston Caliper? Can someone/anyone recommend a direct bolt on, change over, replacement, no nonsense, one off new on 4 piston caliper to get along with the appropriate pads please. If a 4 piston caliper isn't an option the best braking system to use, front and rear.
That was my thinking as well, to do the front and then do he rear later if needed. All in all though, I might leave it the hands of my mech - although I can almost guarantee what his advice would be
