I pumped some grease in the zerk on the fork, may be the first time for that bike.
Here's a hint - stay away from stealerships for just about everything! Find a good local independent mech for your servicing etc (unless you do your own) and someone to do your tires when needed - you'll save a heap of dollars, believe me.

Don't know what you're capable of, but if you can wrench you can save lots of money. Buy the tires from someone like JP Cycles and pull the wheels yourself. A independent shop will charge you $30 to $50 to mount and balance. As for the Cam Chain Tensioners, you can get away with just replacing the shoes and inner bearings. Maybe cost you about $250 if you carry the Camplate to a shop for some bench work. Just saying....

I would not replace the plug wires with only 17k miles. New tires - yep. Oil changes - yep. Steering stem bearings - nope. Brakes - depends on condition.
Good looking bike! Nice color and not seen everywhere - Cool.

I don't know but my philosophy is this when buying something used and unknown - replace everything that is important to your safety ie: brakes, tires and so forth. When I bought mine (zonks ago) the first thing I did was get it "major serviced - front to rear, top to bottom", and replaced the brakes and tires. That to me is the very minimum that should be done so you know the condition of your bike/car. I did the same sort of things when I bought my last car as well.

At the end of the day it's up to you and it might cost a bit first of - but what is your safety worth?

[QUOTE=04FXDI

I have one question. Are the passenger pegs up high for a reason or am I seeing this wrong?[/QUOTE]

I assume that is the factory location, that is how they came when I bought it.

Might be wrong but maybe they had to be that high due to the exhaust system position?

Either that or whoever rides pillion likes their knees up round their ears

That's not the factory position for the pegs. It's an option. The previous owner either had an old lady that liked the old school chopper thing or he did it for a kid.

That money didn't scare me away one bit, I did that whole kit and it's a night and day difference.

also there there is a few S&S and Feuling kits that are about 750 bucks to upgrade to hydraulic cam chain tensions. If I wasn’t doing cams. I’d just go with the HD parts.

These are my own concoction, but these are the OEM passage mounting points on the FB.
